Wavetronix's innovative Command DataTranslator™ bridges the gap between incompatible data management systems, integrating previously unconnectable data subsystems into a single manageable environment. With DataTranslator, expanding that closed-ended legacy traffic management system with new functionality can be achieved quickly and without costly custom development.

DataTranslator is part of the growing Command line of Wavetronix traffic data management appliances, and it delivers a much-needed function for the ITS industry: performing real-time data translations between databases, data types, file formats and data streams. DataTranslator builds upon the successful strategy of the Command data appliance line: employing flexible and intuitive software tools, accessible from any networked web-browser, managed via enterprise-quality name-brand server hardware. DataTranslator integrates into virtually any TCP/IP network and provides ready functionality into any client environment.

DataTranslator's TaskBuilder translation developer's kit makes defining complex translation tasks a quick and simple process. TaskBuilder's intuitive drag-and-drop graphical user interface (GUI) provides a dynamic visual map of each multi-step data translation process. Individual data components and linked data conversion actions are easily managed using the TaskBuilder tool. Each translation task can be built and rehearsed in advance, taking all guess-work out of the finished translation output.

Completed TaskBuilder translation tasks are managed through the DataTranslator's scheduling GUI, allowing for the creation of scheduled or triggered data translation jobs. Translation jobs can run as required, with user-selectable frequency. Real-time traffic data can be retrieved, translated and delivered every 20 seconds; or weekly peak traffic data can be parsed, converted and e-mailed every Friday at 8PM. With the ability to conduct multiple, real-time translation jobs simultaneously, DataTranslator provides at-a-glance status of the complete translation schedule, as well as a comprehensive notification system providing e-mail or pager alerts of critical translation job status.

Most importantly, Command data appliances from Wavetronix are supported as products, not projects. Like all Command data appliances, DataTranslator integrates enterprise quality hardware & software with industry-specific applications from Wavetronix into a scalable, reliable shrink-wrapped solution.
